PRE-APPOINTMENT PREP GUIDE
Get the most out of your girltime.
Whether you're booked in for lashes, brows, or a body treatment, a little prep goes a long way. This guide is your go-to for simple, stress-free tips to get ready for your appointment and ensure best results.
Have a read through before your appointment so you can make the most of your Girltime & leave feeling extra cute.
BROW LAMINATION
Avoid Retinol or Harsh Skincare Products
Stop using retinol, AHA/BHAs, or strong exfoliants around your brows at least 48 hours before your appointment to prevent irritation.
Skip Brow Makeup the Day Of
Arrive with clean, makeup-free brows to ensure the products adhere properly.
No Self-Tanning on the Face
Avoid self-tanning products on your face and brows for 24–48 hours before your appointment to prevent unwanted discoloration.
Don’t Wax, Thread, or Tint Immediately Before
Let us handle shaping and tinting post-lamination if needed. Freshly waxed or irritated skin can be too sensitive for the treatment.
Keep Your Brows Dry & Oil-Free Beforehand
Natural oils and heavy creams can create a barrier, affecting results.
Avoid Sunburn or Skin Trauma
If your brows or surrounding skin are sunburnt or healing, it’s best to wait until the area is fully recovered.
lash lift
No lash serums for at least 4 days before (and after).
Serums can make your lashes more slippery and weaken the lift results, so giving them a break means a stronger, longer-lasting curl.
Arrive with clean, makeup-free lashes
Remove all eye makeup thoroughly using an oil-free remover so the lifting solution can work its magic.
Avoid curling lashes beforehand
Skip the lash curler for at least 24 hours before your lift to avoid stressing the hairs.
No waterproof mascara 48 hours beforehand
Waterproof mascara is stubborn and can leave behind residue that affects results. We want those lashes as clean as possible for the best results!
Remove contact lenses
Take out your contacts before your appointment (and don’t forget to bring your glasses).
Reschedule if needed
Please rebook if you’re experiencing an eye infection, stye, conjunctivitis, or known allergies to lash lift or tint products.
BODY CONTOURING
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate
Drinking plenty of water before and after your session helps your body flush out toxins and enhances results. Aim for at least 2L of water on the day of your appointment (and keep it up in the days following).
Avoid alcohol & caffeine
Avoid wine and coffee for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Both can dehydrate the body and limit how effectively your treatment works.
Light meals only
Avoid heavy or greasy meals right before your session. A light, balanced meal will help keep you comfortable while lying down and make the treatment more effective.
Skip lotions & oils
Arrive with clean, dry skin free from moisturisers, oils, or self-tanners. These can create a barrier and reduce the effectiveness of your treatment.
Sunburnt? Best to reschedule.
Sunburnt or irritated skin is a no-go for contouring. If you’ve recently had sun exposure, wait until your skin has fully healed before booking in.
Dress comfy
Loose, soft clothing is your best friend. Avoid anything tight or restrictive that could leave marks or feel uncomfortable after your session.
SPRAY TANNING
Remove old tan
Start fresh! Use a tan eraser to remove any remnants of your last tan at least 2 days before your appointment. This gives your skin a clean, even base to work with.
Exfoliate like a pro
The day before your appointment, use an exfoliating mitt to buff away dead skin. Pay extra attention to dry spots like elbows, knees, ankles, and wrists – these areas love to cling onto excess colour.
Say bye-bye to body hair
Shave or wax at least 24 hours before your tan (48 hours if waxing). This gives your pores time to close and avoids that dotty, speckled look. Plus, waxing can cause tiny tears in the skin that don’t mix well with fresh tan.
Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise
Hydrated skin = a flawless, long-lasting tan. Keep up with your moisturiser in the days leading up to your appointment, especially on elbows, knees, hands, and feet. Just skip moisturiser on the actual day of your tan.
Arrive product-free
On the day of your appointment, come with clean skin – no moisturiser, deodorant, makeup, perfume, or oils. These products can react with tanning solution, causing patchiness or even that dreaded green tint.
Dress for tan success
Opt for loose, dark clothing or a flowy dress, and slip-on shoes like sandals or thongs. Tight clothes, bras, or anything that rubs can cause streaks or creasing before your tan has time to set.
